Sin has many expressions but only one mother - pride. Pride is a preoccupation with self. Pride causes the promotion, protection and pleasure of self to become the main pursuit and motivation of our life. Yet God is opposed to the proud but gives grace and exaltation to the humble. This is why it is always the wisest thing to do the humble thing in everything. Over and over again we see in the Bible God frustrating the proud and helping the humble. We will study through many of these as we learn how to fight off the foolishness of pride in its many expressions and learn to instead pursue the wisdom of humility. (Prov 11:2). We have seen many at the center overcome relational and personal challenges like conflict, anger, fear, depression, etc. through the power and wisdom that comes from God when we turn from pride to humility.
