Crisis Counseling: In the Eye of the Storm - 4 sessions

When people suffer the loss of a relationship, health, job, retirement, marriage, child, position, or reputation it can lead to depression, anxiety, anger, guilt, the escape of responsibilities, or an inordinate pursuit of pleasure (i.e. reckless spending, substance abuse, or foolish relationship rebounding). These four sessions will powerfully persuade and practically direct you or those you counsel away from these things through the perspectives of the Scripture. There is a hope that heals and wisdom that leads. Don't waste sorrow and loss, redeem it. Things will work out in the end for better, but only by following Truth. Come learn the truth about crises. This training includes a manual filled with principles and ready-to-use assignments to better apply what you will learn.
We cover the following topics in this 4 session workshop: Gaining comfort through an in-depth study of the sufferings of Job, Jesus and Joseph; Showing the love of Christ and speaking the Truth of Christ to the person in crisis; Teaching effective biblical meditation strategies to those in crisis; Calling the person in crisis to discover God's good in the bad by moving forward in faith. Come with pain, but leave with hope and direction.

Life is a succession of decisions, punctuated by choices. Learn how to avoid making an unwise decision by using the wisdom of the Word. Have you ever made a decision like one of these five poor decision makers? 1) The Fool; 2) The "Spiritualizing" Fool; 3) The Indecisive; 4) The Lazy & Distracted; 5) The Independent & Boastful. These two sessions of "Making Wise Decisions" will cover this in more detail and help you apply it to your life and counseling others.
